Periodically a user's local Windows profile will get corrupt on our XP boxes.  Rather than worry about migrating all the data to a new uncorrupted profile, I would like to find a clean-up tool that corrects typical profile corruption issues.

Here's a suggested fix from MS.  And one that actually looks like it would work.

If you just need a program to clean out old temp files, temp ie files, cookied, etc., then there are two programs I recommend.  CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com) is excellent for a single login (works for more than one, but you have to manually select).  It also has a good registry cleaner.   Cleanup (http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/download.html) works across the board for all user profiles on the pc.  It also has some interesting cleaning options.

nothing may be the perfect solution for this requirement. However you can improve your chances to keep the profile working for a longer time. system mechanic by www.iolo.com is another good tool I used to have .
user profile recreation is infact itself a quick solution to unexpected kind of problem related to user account. Since windows XP protects its files, generally the user files are the ones that get corrupted in case of trouble.
A better way is to look for a solution to resolve the issue you are having. Like avoiding certain software , a backup solution etc.  Usually my user profile will last 6 months to an year and I keep a backup which can be restored to the settings I like.
