NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error

Hello Expert,

I have a Toshiba Laptop Tecra S2 PM.1.86 GZ... Anyway, 6/10 times when i turned on i'm receiving a blue screen or either it shut automatically after 15 send and it show this msg:

*** Hardware malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
*** The system has halted ****

WHAT this message mean, and what i should do pls advice.

1) Probably BAD RAm , and or Motherboard issues.

I would rseat the RAM, and then run a RAM test like
memtest86 or similar.

Good morning,

Just to let you know, when the computer boot, i'll choose F8, save mode networking is working fine.

Yestrday, i've format my laptop with the original cD... so if i didn't choose SAFE mode or f8, this blue screen show up directly...

How i'm able to remove the memory from my laptop ?

pls advice.

You will need to use the User manual ( access it online from the Toshiba site ), and find where te RAM is located, normally accessible via a small panel on the backside of the Laptop.

The Maintenanve manual should have explicit instructions.

Instructions to tun the memeory test should be on the Site where you download it.

You may need to seek expert help if you are not comfortable with doing this yorself.
