How to Monitor CPU usage in Virtual Machines on VS 2005 R2

I want to be able to monitor the cpu usage in windows server virtual machines on windows virtual server 2005 R2. And possible send an alert if CPU or memory usage is over a threshold.

Have looked into scripts and apps, and can not find anything but a Management Pack for MOM. I don't have MOM or care to install it.

Any other ideas? You'd think this could be done via scripts on the Virtual Server 2005 host machine....

Thanks,

-Brian

Thanks for your response.

So, to run MOM or SCOM 2007 you need a dedicated server right? And room on a SQL 2000 server for the DB to reside?
PMP looks interesting. Have you used this product yourself?

Thanks again.

I have tested PMP, but opted for MOM.

It depends on the size of your MOM deployment.  We monitor over 5000 devices with MOM/SCOM, but I have some internation sites where the MOM install is on a shared server - < 40 monitored devices.
