Can't install SQL2005 on Vista Business

I have vista business installed on my new laptop. I tried to install SQL2005 and got the message that setup detected that IIS was not running and so SSRS could not be installed. I googled this and realised that IIS6 compatilibilty had to be turned on for SSRS to work - I did this. That problem gone. When starting the install it tells me that SQ2005 SP2 MUST be installed after setup before 2005 can be used. No problem, I download it.
I continue to install 2005 - it gets about half way through and tells me a file is missing, an office file in a folder office11. The only office install is some try it 25 times version that came preinstalled.

I carry on, soon after that other components fail to install - including the main ones, db services etc. Then it asks for disk 2 (strange) so I put disc 2 in and it continues but is now saying removing applications, removing backup files etc.
Then it says finished and invites me to look at the setup log for failures. I do and only 1 thing reports to have failed. Everything else says success. I go to the program group and can only find BOL so I think hmmm perhaps everything else is disabled till I apply SP2. So I do, no change.
I then redo set up hoping it might repair or anything - exactly the same deal.
Anyone know what the issue is? I am logged on as a vista admin and also start setup by r.clicking and choosing run as admin. There are no sql services listed and a bare minimum under program files/ms sql

Hi QPR my first thought is that as this is a Vista OS it has a different MBR. Now I am no big expert here but
You may need to remove this Vista MBR first delete the partition then install SQL2005 clean.

I'm not sure I follow, you want me to remove the operating system in order to install SQL2005?
I'm not sure why I said that. I just came home from work. Too much xp.
Can you install SQL2005 in Vista Business, its just I was reading this>
But now Microsoft has a problem. Vista, its long-awaited update to the Windows operating system, can't run the current version of SQL Server. The company is working on a SQL upgrade that is compatible with Vista - called SQL Server 2005 Express Service Pack 2 - but it's in beta and can be licensed only for testing purposes. Microsoft hasn't set a release date for the new SQL program.

Thanks, I already have SP2 and have enabled II6 compatibility so SSRS and "vista" aware shouldn't be an issue. I'm pretty sure the problem lies with this missing file.
I'll retry the setup, take note of the missing file error msg and google it and also print it here

Solved it, had to uninstall Office 2003 web components for it to work.
