smtp is used by mailing program to send mail outside, 4006 is a general error on smtp (the remote server did not respond to a connection request), check what program you are using to generate emails that are rejected by your smtp server (maybe some spyware? ) or is it some configuration issue.

Hi,
In fact, my problem is nothing to do with sending mails but my server is plenty of message like :
In EventView>>Security
Message delivery to the host 61.151.253.88 failed while delivering to the remote domain 'baoxiang.com' for the following reason: The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt.

I have 4 messages like this every second with changing IP and domain name. And INETINFO.EXE Process goes to 0% to 90% so my web server is becoming slow
When I stop my SMTP Service everything is OK but of course i can not send my EMAIL.

Are there any emails being sent to that domain through your system?  maybe you can block emails to that domain.

Bonjour,

I have +10 000 events messages per day and they are not comming from my server.
I just need to send less than 10 Mail per day and it works.
I think someone else is triying to use my SMTP server but i don't know how to stop this kind of attacks or how can i tell to my SMTPSVC to not send sécurtiy messages like this to the event viewer.
I have already blocked the port 25 and changed my smtp pot to 2525.

The solution is :
1/ Update sur WK2003 SP2 R2
2/  I have created a new SMTP server and stopped the default one (it's important) .
3/ I have deleted inetpub\BadMail + inetpub\Queu >> del *.* /Q duration more than 3 hours . impossible to know how many files in these 2 dirs.
4/ Reboot all this stuf
.... AND Finaly it works without warning and inetinfo.exe is running normaly.
Here's your first 500 points to AdamComp.
Merci to you both.
