Windows backup utility
Hi,
I have windows 2003 and i need to backup a folder which is 400 Gb to another location.Can i do this.Can i restore the same folder with all the internal shares alive with the security permissions without being disturbed.

I tried but the share is not alive.
All the permissions are the same.Can i backup from windows 2003 machine and retore it in windows 2000 machine.?
Will it support backing such huge data of 400 GB

No you can not backup from a different machine then restore to a different machine while keeping all permissions.

Cant we even not backup and restore the folder in the same machine with the permissions?

Yes you can restore the same folder with all shares alive. Windows backup is capable of this. If you like, run a test backup/restore on a small file and folder with shared and security rights.
