We had to take ownership of a users roaming profile on the server. Now when the user logs in they get a message saying Your Roaming profile is not available. You are logged on with a local profile...You do not have permissions, etc

Can the appropriate permissions be reset to the folder so that they can reuse that roaming profile folder

Add that user account to the appropriate roaming folder.
Yes, but you will need to do this manually for each user...

It's only one user they had to take ownership of.

What rights do I need to assign to the folder?
When I add them to the user folder with full control they still get the error.
Does SYSTEM user need any rights?

Commented:
Did the permissions propogate down to all the subfolders?  Also, where did you assign the user account permissions?

Thanks guys I've sorted it now.
1st add the user to their folder security with full control
2nd give the user ownership under the advanced button, owner tab
3rd remove the "Administrator" user that had the permissions from when ownership was taken.
Once the user is sole owner and has sole permissions it then seems to work ok

Cheers

Good combination of security.  I was just looking for the way we configured our roaming profiles but it has been a couple of years ago since we had those.
