We have a DSL line that is about 1.5 Mbs.  I hooked up a Linksys WAP 4400N to it in order to share the connection and also to share the network resources.  THE CONNECTION IS SLOW.  Why is this happening?  I can't use certain programs over the wireless connection because of its slowness

You can change or select each channel and mode (B, G, and N) to test signal improvement, sometime B mode (clowest mode) works better than G and N in some environment. To test signal and connection, turn off firewall, security features, etc.

Wireless G (without overhead calculated) is about 36 times faster than your DSL.

What is slow, the web surfing? Sharing files? or both...

Naturally, the more people sharing the connection will cause reduced individual throughput.

What is slow is the VB6 application is being shared over the connection and is accessing a database.
