XP Professional Image does not recognise dual core processor

We have a core image that is used to build new PC's and have updated drivers to support all models that we install.  However, once a dual core computer is built with this image it does not recognize the dual core processor in our Dell D420 notebooks.  Device manager shows the correct processor, but task manager only shows a single core.

My question.  Is there a way to update our standard image to support dual core CPU'S?
