[500] The path is too long after being fully qualified. Make sure path is less than 260 characters.

I'm trying to use
System.IO.File.Copy( source, dest) and get an error when the dest is more than 260 in length

I did some digging and found out that its a framework limitation.

if so, what is the workarround?
