Screen saver is disabed in group policy but a blank screen saver is active after 15mins on client
Hello,
I'm really struggling with this problem and hope as usual that you guys can help.
Group policy set for a group of users.
SBS 2003
Administrative Template
Control Panel/Display
password protect sreensaver - disabled
prevent chaning wallpaper - enabled
screen saver - disabled
screen saver timeout - disabled
I have also set in the registry - control panel display but this is under administrator as gpo is set to no access to desktop control panel etc
screensaveactive 0
scrnsave.exe 0
screensavetimeout 0
how can I stop the screensaver kicking in on the restricted user after 15mins
Thank you

When I go to the command prompt and tpye gpresult or gpresult /v > gpo.log
this is what I get 'gpresult' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
These few pc's that are running the administrative template gpo are lockdown and I have managed to create a shortcut to command prompt using runas "administrator" which works so far.
I have run gpedit.msc but under user configuration it is set to "Not configured" for everything - is this because I am running command prompt as adminsitrator - also Computer configuration is set to Not configured but that would be correct as the gpo from SBS2003 is for a user

Having checked out the power settings in control panel the screen was set to turn off after 20mins so quite right not the screen saver.

Excellent! Lets hope that solves your problems.

First thing to do when having problems with group policy settings is to check if they are actually applied. Go to machine when screensaver is still working, go to command prompt and run "gpresult /v > gpo.log". Then open gpo.log with notepad and check, if policy settings you specified in your question are applied.
