Can't boot to hard drive

I have a hard drive with XP on it. I can't boot to it. I try to reinstall Windows but the install cd says theres no hard drive found. I have a second drive in this pc that I can boot to. After I boot to this drive and windows is up I can se the problem drive and all it's folders.Everything looks fine. Does anyone have any Ideas?

Yes I use to be able to boot from this drive. It is a SATA and so is the other one. I'll try the f6.
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

first, tell us your specs : mobo, disk...
then look in the bios if the disk is recognised (if not, it can be a bad disk)

It was the sata drivers. I did the f6 and was able to reinstall windows thanksmuch
