generali,
Well, it's been almost 4 months (that's one third of a year) since you asked this question.  How's it going?  Have you set up your router as I outlined in my post above?
Ryan_R

Try clicking these links - one of them should take you to the configuration menu of your router (as mentioned above).

http:\\192.168.0.1
http:\\192.168.1.1
http:\\192.168.1.254
http:\\10.0.0.1

Once there - see if there is a Wizard of sorts. You will be asked to enter in a Network (WEP) key, using digits 0-9 and letters a - f. This key is what you'll need to type into Windows when connecting to your Wireless network.

If you have already sorted everything out, can you please close this question by accepting an answer (or multiple answers) - or requesting a different close method. It is important to post if you solved your own problem and post the solution so that other people with the same problem can use your solution.

Ryan_R,

Rt. click - status - default gateway  will give generali the address of his router.  But, to be honest, it's been almost 8 months now and still no feedback.  I think he's gone for good...
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

Yes - agreed.

Although this will probably never get read by the original poster, i would imagine he / she has been supplied a router from thier ISP.  This means somewhere on the unit or in the paperwork provided, the WEP (or similar) key will be listed.

If it was a retail boxed router, there would be no pre-defined wireless key and would just work until changed via security settings.

As I said almost a year ago: "...Rt. click - status - support - default gateway..." will reveal the router's address. Connect with an ethernet cable, and you can read the network key from the settings page..."

generali,  I think it is time for some feedback...
