Adobe Reader Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities
I have a system that is showing a multiple cross-site vulnerabilities in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader.
I have updated the Adobe 7.0 professional to 7.0.9 and my scanner program still see the vulnerability. I installed Reader 8.0 and did its updates and still detecting the vulnerability, I uninstalled all adobe products to include Adobe 7.0.9 Pro, Adobe 8 reader, Adobe Flash player, rebooted the system many times and still the Stat Scanner program is detecting the cross-site vulnerability, does anyone know the fix for this?
Thank you, DSterling
Below is what the scanner program is saying:
These vulnerabilities would allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary JavaScript and introduce executable code. Users could also inject arbitrary HTTP headers and conduct HYYP response splitting attacks.
Upgrade Adobe Reader.
Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/ and download and install the latest Adobe Reader (currently 8.0). Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/ to upgrade Adobe Acrobat.
If you cannot update to Adobe Reader 8.0, then upgrade to Adobe Reader 7.0.9. Go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and upgrade to Adobe Reader 7.0.9 or 6.0.6.
