How can I use hot swappable sata drives in linux?
I have a hot swappable SATA rack that allows me to pull drives in and our of a system. On a windows system, if I push a new drive in, it spins up and eventually shows up in the list of drives in My Computer. It even usually keeps the same drive letter that I assign to it.
I got another one of those racks for my linux system (running CentOS 4.4). When I plug it in, it spins up, but then I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see. Will it mount somewhere automatically or do I need to use the mount command to mount it.
If I need to use the mount command, how do I see a list of drives that are available for mounting?
Once I mount it, will it now be hot swappable so that if I unplug it, the mount point goes away, but if I plug it back in it'll get automatically mounted back to the same location?
