I am working on a laptop made by widowpc. &nbsp;It has a Promise Technology SATA378 TX2plus controler with 2 hard drives connected - Hitachi model HTS721060G9AT00. &nbsp;It must be RAID0 or 1. &nbsp;It can't boot into Windows apparently because of corruption to the System hive. &nbsp;I was able to get into the Recovery Console. &nbsp;I hit F6 and loaded the driver from Promise. &nbsp;But I could not run chkdsk. &nbsp;I received the message that there are unrecoverable problems. &nbsp;I want to run hard drive diags but the Hitachi DFT I always use does not give the option to load the Promise driver so I can't see the drives. &nbsp;How can I run diags in this situation? &nbsp;The system is out of warranty. &nbsp;There is no vendor support and I don't have the CDs that originally came with the system. (but I do have a Win XP Pro OEM CD) &nbsp;Thank you.
