SonicWALL TZ170 VPN via FIOS Actiontec MI424-WR
We just switched to verizon FIOS. Before we had RoadRunner and users connected via vpn to our network. For vpn we use SonicWALL TZ170. Here is a problem, after installing Actiontec MI424-WR users cant initiate tunnels to the network. In Actiontec i've enabled port forwarding to sonicwall for ports 1723 and 500. What else am i missing?
Rather than port forwarding can you change the Actiontec from NAT mode to bridge mode? This will allow you to configure the WAN interface of the Sonicwall with a public IP, and should resolve your VPN issues.
Robwill is correct, this is what you need to do. The process isn't so straightforward. While I haven't tried it myself yet, I have been doing some digging on how to do it and came across the following link:

Solved by connecting sonicwall directly to Fios . Verizon doesn't like doing it but business is business.
Sounds like the default configuration give you a NATed address.
Good to hear you have it working.

For Sonicwall VPNs you need IPSec protocal 50. TCP and UDP 500 for IKE and 4500 UDP for NAT traveral.
aelroy, I'm having the same problem with my home fios connection. I went through the trouble of converting the Actiontec router into bridge mode but the VPN tunnel does not get established. can you tell me how you connected it to fios??? Is it a port on the actiontec router? thanks in advance
