I have a gridview with a checkbox column so a user can select a row...

                <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Select">
                        <asp:CheckBox ID="cbSelected"
                                      AutoPostBack="true" runat="server"
                                      OnCheckedChanged="cbSelectFile_Changed" />

                <asp:BoundField DataField="DisplayName" HeaderText="DisplayName" />
                <asp:BoundField DataField="FileSize" HeaderText="FileSize" />
                <asp:BoundField DataField="Path" HeaderText="Path" />
                <asp:BoundField DataField="Extension" HeaderText="Extension" />

I want to make it so that only one row can have a checkbox selected.... not multiple rows... how do I do this?
Watch Question

Do you mean clientSide so they get a response if they have selected more than one check box or on PostBack so you see if they have selected more than one on submission and then inform the user of such on postback.

Andrew :)

On the client side I want the users to ionly be able to select one checkbox on one row.
give me five mins and I will write a sample code to show you how as you will need global javascript and assign a function to each checkbox when the row has been created.

Andrew 5 mins :-)

Wow... thanks!
okey dokey here it is :-)

sorry I click send before I had pasted lol

you use this

e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow

as The RowCreated event also applies to Header and Footer rows which obviously will not have a checkbox inside it.  Thus giving an error.
