Outlook custom form could not be opened error
I have an XP workstation running Outlook 2003 SP2 on an SBS 2003 network. When I attempt to 'approve sender' for an item in the Spam Folder, I get the following error message:
The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook form instead. There is not enough disk space to copy the form to your computer. Close some forms, or increase the maximum space for forms using the Options command on the Tools menu.
The mail item then opens, but it doesn't move to the Inbox, as it should (and used to).
I haven't found an exact match for the error message on the web, but one article recommended clearing the cache and deleting outcmd, frmcache and extend.dat. That didn't help.
Can you ?

It turns out that Microsoft does not create a 'spam' folder in Outlook, the Trend Micro suite does. I eventually figured out that Trend was the source of the folder, and they walked me through fixing the problem.
Sorry... I TOTALLY missed your mention of "Spam Folder". I should have spotted that right away! Glad you got it going though.

If that doesn't do the trick, and if running Detect & Repair doesn't work either, uninstall Outlook completely and make sure that all Outlook Application Data folders are moved or deleted.
Then in your SBS Server Management Console, open the Client Computers Snapin > View Computer Settings > Expand the workstation's name > Assigned Applications > and right click on Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 > Reinstall.
Run Microsoft Update to reapply security patches/updates.
