i have this formula in a text box in a form:
=(DLookUp("[EngFName]","[Engineers]","[NetworkID]='" & [CurrentUser] & "'")) & " " & (DLookUp("[EngLName]","[Engineers]","[NetworkID]='" & [CurrentUser] & "'"))

which reads the current user (network id) and display the first + last name to this user

the problem is that this will display in all records!

i want to alter it, so each record will save the user who entered it. And will only display the above formula's result in a new record...

Add to the underlying Table of your form's recordsource a field named
"UserWhoEnteredIt"
Set it's default value to CurrentUser()
Each new record will store the user name of the one who entered the record.
You can then Make a query where you link the field "UserWhoEnteredIt" with the table "Engineers" on the field "NetworkID", to draw in the first and last name.
This way you would no longer need the Dlookup which usually slows down your query

Let's be a bit more specific:
Is your form a continuous form or a Single Form?
Is it based on a Query?
What's the name of that query?
Or is it based on a table?
