Hi,
I am running a win2k3 server and I installed the FP extentions for a virtual site, I published the form with Front Page and Http but when I try to use the form I get this error message:

Frontpage Extensions Forms : Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: "page.html"

I have already check that the results points to _private/feddback.txt , and all other features of Front Page like counters are working great, what could be the cause?

thanks for your help

Did you check the _private folder to make sure it has the proper read / write permissions?  Are you able to use the form just to email and does that work?

Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: page.html
Are you just submitting the form to the _private?

You are publishing this form via http, right?

no I am trying to send an email through the form, and I published ht form with http and front page, I checked the logs but there is no info about front page
What happens if you just use the email?  Does it still error?

if I just use the mail , the email gets sent with non error, the error only shows in the front page
Since the email is sent and you get no error, it sounds like a permission issue.

How are you checking the permissions - via FP or the server?  If the server, what rights does the internet user have?

the internet user has list folder permission, I am changing permission through the server and the administator user
The folder needs proper read / write permissions so FP can write to it

which folder should I change the permission to the internet user , there are quite a few folders, and then should not front page change these permission when I installed the front page extentionS?  thanks
You are writing to the _private folder.  I usually just sign onto the server (File - open web - http://www.example.com) and then right click on the file to make it writeable.

Sometimes the FPSE will change the permissions, sometimes not.  But this is a FPSE issue, not FP.  It depends on how the server is set up.  FPSE are just quirky that way.  Usually read / write will do it.  You might need to have modify as well if you are not going to use the FP method.  You might need modify as well.

I changed the permission to the internet user in the directory _private so now has read write execute and modify set, but still I get the same error message, is there any log file I should check to see any error message? thanks
No log files usually.  Sometimes it will just tell you there was an error.

On the server, if you right click on the feedback.txt, does it have the proper permissions?

You might need modify as well.
