useable charcters for sbs2003 server local domain name

we are installing a new sbs 2003 server for one of our customers. We want to call the local domain the same as the external domain ie c-tree.co.uk. However, I seem to remember in the back of my mind that we cannot use the - character for this purpose. Can anyone confirm whether this is the case or not, as we would have to rethink the local domain name, if this is the case.
Many thanks.

If never had any problems with using " - " in a domain name but just in case you do use " _ ".

I suggest you real that article oBdA refered to. It is generally a good idea to keep the internal DNS name for the domain different to the public DNS name otherwise problems may result in the longer term. c-tree.local would be my preference.
