DFS File Replication errors - cannot access the WMI repository and DFS Replication performance counters

I'm running 2 x DCs on Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition w/SP1 (DC1 = FS1 and DC2 = FS2).
I'm using DFS File Replication to replicate FS1 - d:\data to FS2 - x:\data.
I have disabled the connection from FS2 to FS1 because I'm only using DFS for one-way replication from my office to my house (in the event of fire, theft, flood, etc.)
This has worked successfully for several months.
I upgraded to SP2 and now I get the following error messages when running "Create a diagnostics report" via DFS mmc on FS1 using FS1 as the reference member:

Error reported for FS2:  Cannot access the local WMI repository.  Due to the following error, the DFS Replication reporting mechanism cannot access the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) namespace to retrieve certain reporting information. Error ID: 0x80041002

Error reported for FS2:  Cannot access DFS Replication performance counters.  The DFS Replication service is unable to access the performance counter DFS Replicated Folders(Data-{1E4851F7-E554-42AE-BB5F-76763EA444D8})\File Installs Succeeded on FS2. Performance data is unavailable. Error ID: 0x800007d5.

I uninstalled the file server option on FS2, rebooted, removed the replication group on FS!, reinstalled the File Server option on FS2.  I recreated the replication group on FS1 and waited for it to replicate to FS2.  I opened DFS mmc on FS2...replication group is present and the topology verifies successfully.  The staging path and conflict/deleted paths are default.  I have several free GB on each of the disks.  I'm copying about 35GB through a VPN.  FS1 has an upstream speed of 1.2Mbps while FS2 has an upstream speed of 768Mbps.

Any clues how to resolve this issue?

Your attention to this request is greatly appreciated.  I was about to uninstall SP2 but didn't want to risk losing more functionality on either system.

Regards,

Jason Kraus

My WMI repository was damaged.  Your suggestions were spot on in fixing the WMI repository.  However, the data drive's MFT seems to be damaged as well.  When I attempt to extract a compressed file on the data drive it fails.  When I copy the compressed file to the OS drive and launch it from there it is successful.  When I configured FRS to replicate to a different drive it came back to life.  Any suggestions how to repair the MFT with free or built-in tools.....short of offlining the data, reformatting, and copying data back to it?

Thanks!

ummmm.... you performed a chkdsk.exe on the drive, I presume? Otherwise, I suggest opening a new question on this, I'm afraid.
yes....i performed a chkdsk.exe....i'll post a new question.  Thanks for your time.
