Locking Layers? (Dreamweaver)

Is there a way to lock layers in dream weaver cs3 so that lets say I put a table in the layer that the table cannot grow any bigger then the layer is? I am trying to make a template using layers but the same problems I was wanting to get away with tables I have with layers so far.
But yeah If there is a way to lock the size of the layer that would be awsome. Thanks Guys

Hi aumudin,

Specifying the size of the layer and setting the overflow properties in the CSS to hidden should effectively lock the size of the layer.

That didnt help at all still will expand the layer size as much as it wants. I can enter "asdfasdfasdf" over and over and the layer will just grow. That is with Prevent Overlaps checked or unchecked. I use to buy templates that wouldnt let you expand the template any more so that it didnt stretch it all out and look goofy. But am not sure how they do it. I really dont care which method I go with tables or layers just need to be able to lock it so it dont stretch the page all out when I change the data ore add new stuff.
Post your source code and css code.

You can go to www.silentcoast.com/speaker and view all the source in the one file.
Which layers do you want locked?
