Annoying overall reverb effect

Hello,

Imediately when accepting microphone configs in MSN Messenger in order to talk with others users, my overall audio in the computer became reverberating - not exactly echoing, but like hearing users (and sounds effects, and music) as they were speaking or ogiginating from inside a large room without furnitures. And this effect is strong. Please help me to use Messenger without this annoying problem.

My motherboard is Chips onboard and I was not able to find any possible direct control over its sound feature.

Thank you very much,

Did you retry the Microphone tuning wizard in Messenger?
You can select the performance in there.....

Also, is the mic plugged into the sound card or is there a spot for it on the monitor?

Hello All,

Sorry for the delay. As you may guess, BIG problems over here. Summing up, I had to buy a new HD. And after all basic reinstalls, sound was ok (no reverbs). However, there came the scary time for msn messenger, and hell the reverb problem came out again, and remained even running the audio wizard again and again.

But the answer hapenned to be simple, as some of you have suggested: just updating the audio driver the reverb effect got quiet. Well, at least for now...

Thus I hope to stay grateful to you for much time.

So LONG. :-)
