"Mailbox was not closed properly" in Outlook 2003

Hello Experts:

I have a company that is running Exchange 2007 with 10 users.  One of those users is experiencing a message in the morning when he starts outlook 2003 that says that his mailbox was not closed properly.  He gets this message about 3 times a week.  Once he accepts the message all is well and he does not have any more problems.  I have removed his exchange connection and reconnected it and that has not helped.  Does anyone have any other ideas what could be causing this message?  None of the other users are getting the message.

Try to run outlook without cached mode and see the results

If you run Outlook out of cached mode you won't see the problem because the OST won't be used in-line and the behaviour does not happen.

Test that if you want to but it won't tell you much that would help the office people figure it out.

I am having the user to export off his mail.  I never thought about checking the size of the his mail box--it was large.  I tried the other suggestions and still am having the issue.  I will keep your posted.

Outlook 2003 isn't great with multi-gigabyte OST files. Mine, 3GB mailbox on Outlook 2007/Exchange 2007 was bad until Microsoft released a fix for Outlook 2007 and all is now well. I now deliberately keep my mailbox high jsut to see how far I can drive it.
