Windows Server 2003 FSMO role
Hello Experts,
I have been tasked with setting up a new DC to replace an exisiting one. This is a Single forest environment with 2 DCs currently running W2K3 EE R2 Sp2 with branch offices with their own DCs(Same config). The DC i am replacing is currently in the main office. It is running DNS,DHCP and Printer server functions.
I have built the new server, ran dcpromo, DNS replications is fine and also made this a GC. I ran DCDIAG to make sure replication is fine.
My question is regarding FSMO roles. I ran ntdsutil on the server i have to replace to see the roles it had. It was pointing to the other DC. (production). So i am wondering are there any roles i should be transferring to the new server i have to replace. It seemed that there were no roles.
Thanks.
