Overclocking an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz (E4300)
I just purchased some parts for a new computer and I was wanting some help OVERCLOCKING. Im new to overclocking so I was looking for advice and howto do it. The Mboard is an
Mboard: MSI 945P Neo3-F LGA 775 Intel 945P (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813130059)
RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675  (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145015)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale 1.8GHz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115013)

I wanted to get the CPU upto 2Ghz. Im using the stock intel fan that comes retail, but my case has good cooling. The current settings in the BIOS are:
Adjust DDR Voltage - 1.8
Adjust NB Voltage - 1.55
Spread Spectrum - Enabled
Adjust CPU FSB Freq. - 200
DRAM Frequ - 667

So how high can I safely take the CPU? I noticed the ram freq goes up when I change the CPU freq. What should I do?

If you wanted safe overclock, use better fan and Core Cell / Core Center that come with your motherboard cd. Dont manual setup overclocking, always use Core Cell / Core Center to setup.

You might want to disable Spread Spectrum while you are at it. I find it 'usually' causes more trouble than it stops.

Components are those devices that are internal to a computer -- the PC boards, the central processor (CPU), the memory (RAM), disk and video controllers and so on.
