Increasing Shared Video Memory for laptop

Hi,

I need to increase my shared video memory for my Packard Bell Easynote E5138 Laptop.
I went to the BIOS menu, and was given the selected options: 8, 16, 32Mb. However, I have heard it is possible to increase even the options available e.g 64Mb, by flashing the BIOS to the newest available for my motherboard.
Is this possible, or am i grossly misinformed?
Anyway, assuming this my problem lies in the fact that im such a noob that i dont know what my motherboard model is, or how to find out what it is, and I obviously cant open up my laptop, so

Can someone help?

what a  quick answer! Thank you vm sir.

but i am very computer illiterate. I entered the serial no, and it only gives the option of downloading creating and using a bootable BIOS update CD. Is this what I should do to update? but most importantly WILL IT GIVE ME A HIGHER OPTION?
also, How can i be sure it is designed for my motherboard? cos if not, could cause serious damage.

btw, yes its for a game, but my system matches the game recm. specs.easiy. It would help to up my shared video memory, seeing as ive got 736mb RAM anyway.
ok, i just found out i cant increase the shared memory any more:

"In the BIOS you can set how much memory the system can use for video memory (8, 16 or 32 MB, the last one being the default setting). The value set in the BIOS is, however, the minimum value. Windows XP can, if it needs to, allocate double the value allocated in the BIOS."

thanks, both answers were very. helpful :)
