If you have not reinstalled Exchange yet, and your domain is still working, I would recommend running the Exchange installation with the /disasterrecovery option. This will install Exchange with the old settings that are stored in Active Directory.<br />
Once Exchange is installed your should recover the Information Store.

i have a 2000 server SP4 with exchange 2000 SP3<br />
i had to rebuild this server after a hdd faliure.<br />
the server is exactly as it was before, names, ip's etc....<br />
i have veritas 8.6 and have managed successfully to restore all data except for the exchange mailboxes<br />
