NSLOOKUP and Primary DNS?

Say you have 2 DC's in the same site and both are pointed to themselves.

When you do NSLOOKUP on DC1 you should get DC1 to answer your query and show it's own IP Address.

For some reason when I do an NSLOOKUP on DC2 I get DC1 answering authoritively.

DC2 is also pointed to itself.

How can this be? Why would it ask DC1 where DC2 is if it's queries are going to itself?

Ah Gotcha.

After all the output I received " DC1 (default) cannot find DC2"  but it works the other way around

What could this mean? Everything still works fine but I wonder if I stumbled on a misconfiguration or missing record? CNAME or NS?

Sorry guys I was typing in the wrong servername last time.

The first response from Karma got it right.

My primary DNS is pointing me to the DC that will do my queries. Thats why when I query DC2, DC1 anwers.

DUH!

sorry guy's.
