Help with FolderBrowserDialog

Last Modified: 2013-11-07
I  have to create an app that allows me to select a folder with image files. I then need to populate an image control with the first imagein that folder and also be able to have a next button that goes through all of the images in that folder one by one.

Oh i am using VS2003 and vb.net

hi there,
i dont know if this would work in 2003, but i got something similar to work in 2005
after you put the folderBrowserDialog on the page, you add a button, that will show the dialog. then on the button click event you add the following code. to show the dialog and get the folder that was selected

Imports System.IO

Dim strFolderPath as String
strFolderPath  = fbdFolderName.SelectedPath

Then loop through the files in the folder, and stored them in the array
        Dim arPath() As String
Dim i as Interget
i = 0
' use SearchOption.AllDirectories to scan sub folders
For Each strfileName As String In Directory.GetFiles(lblFolderSelected.Text, "*.jpg", SearchOption.TopDirectoryOnly)

           arPath(i) = strFileName
        i = i + 1

everytime the next button is clicked, read the next item in the array

sorry this should be

and the "*.jpg" is your search criteria

For Each strfileName As String In Directory.GetFiles(strFolderPath , "*.jpg", SearchOption.TopDirectoryOnly)
