Cannot copy outlook: The parameter is incorrect
Running Outlook 2003 SP2. I use the backup feature to backup to CD. Recently, ITunes crashed while attempting to import a CD of excessive size (last song appears to run past the point where it can be read by the machine). After the crash, I began receiving the following error in Outlook when attempting to do a backup:
"Cannot copy outlook: the parameter is incorrect."
I am able to write to and read from the CD drive without issue.
Is it possible that a registry file was corrupted during the attempted ITunes import?

The detect and repair tool prompted me for the installation disk, which, unfortunately, I don't have. So, that eliminates option number 2. The file that the tool was looking for is E3561405.CAB. Bummer.
cnealy,
Try to find Outlook 2003 installation disk from a friend or collegue. You need an installation disk to repair Outlook.

Well, I don't know anyone who has the disk, but I checked ebay and I see that there are disks there for about $50.
I'll leave the question open for a few days to see if anyone can offer a solution that doesn't require the installation disk.
Thanks.

cnealy, were you able to get an installation disk?

No, I wasn't. And, I was hoping for a solution that didn't require it. So, I'm still having the issue. As a workaround, I've been backing up the outlook.pst manually, instead of using the backup tool. I haven't run across any other corrupt functions so far.
Since my problem wasn't solved, how do you recommend that we handle this question? Should I close it out?

Thanks for your help.
Yes, the iTunes crash could have corrupted one or more Outlook files.
1. Repair Outlook. With Outlook open, go to Help > Detect and Repair.
2. If no joy, reinstall Outlook. Go to Add/Remove Programs and highlight Microsoft Office. Click on Install/Uninstall. A menu will pop allowing you to choose repair or reinstall.
