Reset Cisco 1841 to factory defaults
Hi,
I have a Cisco 1841 left behind by the previous IT guys. They've only left a password with view level permissions and are uncontactable.
Does anyone know how to reset it to factory defaults?? I see no place to stick the paper-clip!!
Thanks in advance

Hi,
if the register is set to 0x2xxx, then break is ignored. Another method to get into ROMMON on an 1841 when this is the case is to remove the flash card before power up, follow the above for confreg. Power down the router, plug in the flash, set your new passwords and optionally new config.
Rinse and repeat.
A list of registry values which I found helpful can be found here http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps133/products_tech_note09186a008022493f.shtml
Cheers,
Stuart
