I forgot the rar file password; how can I get it back

I compressed some of my important files by winrar from a long time ago and i protected it by a password
does any one  know a way to retrive my password and files

    Hopefully, the suggestion from Bartender1 can help you out.  However, I have researched this subject before, and everything that I have read previously indicates that it's virtually impossible to retrieve a WinRAR password if it is forgotten.

    Yeah, also, try:
    Unfortunately RAR password recovery programs are usually very slow and you have to pay for them. I've never found a program that worked.

    As Orangutang already implied, I have never seen a RAR password crack actually work.

    If one of my fellow experts has a program that has worked successfully in the past, I would allocate the points to them.  If not, perhaps a simple split between Orangutang and I, because it isn't realistically possible.
