I've installed linux (ubuntu to be exact) for the very first time.
I'd like to ask how can I install my video driver. I can see from my installation CD a folder named linux. Under it is a file named SAVAGE_DRV.O
Can anybody please show me the rights step(s) how to successfully install this driver?

Check out this link:
It contains many installation guides for ubuntu

Hi oriziv, thanks for the link but it seems it doesn't say something about how to install a ".O" file. I'm actually talking about an onboard videocard. I have the installation CD with me but the problem is that I just can't install the included Linux driver for the video.
These files you are talking about are parts of the driver package.
What I'm suggesting is, since your dirver package isn't stable, don"t bother fixing it but re-install it from scratch with a new downloaded package.
