Does it have to be SNMP? If you can give a little more information about what you are trying to do, I may be able to suggest other ways to get visible/audible actions. If it must be snmp, here a few ideas

APC bought a company/product line called netbotz. I am not sure what their capability is with traps, but they supported snmp (not sure about traps) and they could sound alarms, as well as other higher level functions such as take pictures, send emails, etc.

If you are willing to use a pc in this mix, the options are limitless. There are quite a few tools that can recieve traps, and then initiate actions based on the trap recieved.

there is also another angle that is a little more involved. there are quite a few microcontrollers that have network modules available. the microcontrollers require some programming, but they are quite a bit of fun to work with (if you like that kind of thing). I personaly like working with the basic stamp, but there are quite a few options, of course they require learning a lot of new stuff (thats the part I liked about them). A basic stamp and a development board can be purchased for under $100. I think the network modules are under $100 also (i have never bought or used a network module, but they look promising.
