Unable to delete emails from within OWA

Running Server 2003 SBS and when accessing any mailbox using OWA I am unable to delete any emails. This happens for all users mailboxes. If I use Outlook the emails delete without any issues. This problem has been occurring for about 3 weeks and I cant seem to find any reason why. The actual error message given in OWA is "Microsoft Internet Explorer - some items can't be deleted. They were either moved, already deleted, or access was denied". Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this?

You may need to reset the virtual directories in OWA.  To do that, follow the steps in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883380

Check to see though if you have the same issue if you access OWA from within your LAN, (ie, http://servername/exchange) because that is often a sign that you should reset the virtual directories.

You can also rerun the Configure Email and Internet Connection Wizard (CEICW -- linked as "Connect to the Internet on the To-Do list in the Server Management Console), but make sure that you don't select any of the "do not configure" options because then it won't do any good.

One other thing... see if holding down the shift key while trying to delete from OWA works.  If this works, then you may have a corrupt .stm database file.  To regenerate that follow this KB article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555146

Another possible cause is if the Public Folder server (or store) is not accessible.
See "You Are Unable to Delete E-mail Messages When You Use Outlook Web Access" for more detail on how to check.
