Internet Explorer 7 forgets user names and passwords between reboots

Dear expert,

I'm trying to help someone out who's Internet Explorer 7 stopped remembering login names and passwords (on numerous websites that require a login) but I can't fix it. User names and passwords are lost when the computer is rebooted.

The person I'm trying to help is notorious for changing all sorts of computer settings without thinking about the consequences, so he most likely changed some (registry?) setting himself.

Do you know how to get logins and passwords back between reboots?

I think you're looking for: Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Content > Auto Complete > Settings.

    Greetings keimpe !

IE7 remembers your login information via cookies.  Make sure cookies are not being deleted when you reboot the computer.  Security programs like CCleaner will delete cookies files.

Pardon my absense, but my wife made me go on vacation...

war1, your suggestion was spot on: the cookies were deleted every logon by CCcleaner (or something like that).
