SQL SERVER 2005 ENTERPRISE EDITION *** 180 DAY EVALUATION ***

Experts:

Does anyone know if there are any issues with my installing SQL SERVER 2005 ENTERPRISE EDITION (180 day evaluation)  onto my workstation....?

I'm concerned about IF I decide NOT to purchase this program and continue to use SQL SERVER 2005 ****EXPRESS*** EDITION......if....my tables...and/or files will be deleted...or impaired in anyway...after the evaluation period is done....?

thanks

I believe the sql service just won't start - which means the db files are useless to you, as you won't be able to access them

Oh...so the DB's that I already have in place will be fine....but when I install this enterprise edition...I will be required to add a NEW SQL Service....?

For example...lets say I load it....then I start donig things like .....COPYING TABLES from one DB to another. And setup....scheduled...copies....or ETL type processes.

THEN...the 180 days is up.....will my ORIGINAL DB'S be in tact....? Will I just lose access to the NEW  copied tables that I created.

What are your existing Dbs running under?

SQL SERVER MANAGEMENT STUDIO EXPRESS

We have a third party,...internet call center type setup...whereby our vender copies our tables every 3 hours....onto our local server. We use the above FREE program to query the tables...I mainly use CRYSTAL REPORTS to extract data...and distribute reporting.

The problem is that I need more flexibility in regard to SQL Server 2005...I need to create and copy tables...stored procs....functions...etc..etc...but our main DB is READ ONLY to us because of our contract with the 3rd party. I need to be able to duplicate or copy all or most of our tables onto another DB so that I can do what I want with the data.

The express edition will not allow me to do anything to the READ ONLY DB. I'm not sure if this is standard or not...but I can't setup or schedule any type of table copies...in EXPRESS.
