Feedback welcome Does all dsl not have a dialog to connect

Hi experts
A few years ago i had At&t dsl and it had a name, password dialog. Have all dsl is'p's done away with the prompt dialog? I think most are always connected. I no longer have At&t and no dialog, i am always connected. Feedback welcome

Most DSL doesn't require you to dial in anymore.  That is called PPPOE which is an authentication method the some providers use for access.  The providers that used to do are still doing it but now instead of having the user dial up the router/modem does it for you.  So to answer your question 98% of broadband users do not have to dial up.
