Exchange Server 2003 - Status - "In Maintenance Mode"

My Exchange 2003 was not sending/receiving mail this morning.  I rebooted the server and mail started flowing again.  When I check the Status within Exchange Server it shows "In Maintenance Mode".  Is that the normal status or should it be something else.

    Accepted Solution

Go to the properties of your exchange server (in system manager) - switch to the Monitoring tab - and uncheck the box labeled 'Disable all monitoring of this server'.

Refresh the monitoring status and it should go back to normal.

    Assisted Solution

At first glance, this can look like there's a server problem. In fact, all it means is that on the properties of the server object in ESM, on the Monitoring tab, the check box Disable all monitoring of this server has been selected.
