I cannot ping my website - ping http://website.com

I have set up a Windows Server 2003 R2 for the first time. I have everything up & running - DNS, DHCP, IIS, Domain Controller, WINS, Active Directory etc
All is fine except I cannot ping my website - ping http://website.com
I have missed something in the DNS I feel?
Simple query & recursive query's both pass.
Appreciate any guidance offered.

your syntax is wrong, try ping website.com vice ping http://website.com
have got a reverse DNS lookup setup
network connections -> windows firewall -> advanced -> settings -> ICMP

enable "allow incoming echo request".. DONE!
Get free NFR key for Veeam Availability Suite 9.5

Veeam is happy to provide a free NFR license (1 year, 2 sockets) to all certified IT Pros. The license allows for the non-production use of Veeam Availability Suite v9.5 in your home lab, without any feature limitations. It works for both VMware and Hyper-V environments

you cannot ping an http entry anyway - that is not viable. Remove the http part of the line and just do 'ping website.com' or ping www.website.com' as mentioned above, depending on the server name associated .

Thank you everyone - I can now ping the website using the above syntax. Now I cannot 'browse' the website with internet explorer. I have created a website in IIS, entered IP adress etc- is there anything you can assist me with here please?

Sorry I was unable to help you.
