do you have a code sample ?

Actually you could limit the entries width to have same as the surrounding div

by giving the entry-elements a width, too, or setting
    a max-width in the style-sheet.

Sorry, I reread and now seem to understand.
    What to do is:

    <div style="overflow: hidden;"> ... entries that are too long </div>
