Small Business Server 2003 Add User Wizard Error

Hi there

Got SBS2003 setup, everythng working fine locally and remotely with 12 clients

I proceeded to change all the admin shares that I didn't want to be viewed by clients by placing a $ after the share names and managed to set the same share level permsiion security etc.

Now when I try and add another user I get an error at the end of the add user wizard, just says cannot add users, cannot create home folder and set disk quota.

Is this because I changed the the share name of the Users folder from 'Users' to 'Users$ - I cant see why this should cause the wizard to fail ???

I've checked the microsoft pages for a solution to this problem and checked the permissions they said to check - all looks good to me though using the following article

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294667

Easy way to see if your changes caused a problem... undo your changes.

I also don't see why this is really a concern.  If the server is setup properly, no one has access to anyone else's folders anyway.

Yes, changing the share name of the Users folder is likely to affect it. As leew said try changing it back and attempt to create another user.

The permissions on users directory should ensure that users folders can only be viewed by the user they belong to and admins/folder operators.
