Hi Everyone:

I am needing a direct Windows XP Professional SP2 download link for the following: Dell Dimension 2400 as indicated by Everest Home Edition.   Just in case it is needed, the motherboard chipset for this pc is Intel Brookdale-G i845G.

Any direction in obtaining the Windows XP Pro SP2 drivers for the Dell Dimension 2400 will be appreciated.  I look forward to hearing back from everyone regarding this post.

        Thank you.

Moreover, Dell has very good support website that you can easy access.
First to get there: http://www.dell.com
Then, select any option like Home & Small Office
When go to that page, click on the tab "Support" and browser to system that you want to know.

Hi Everyone:

Thanks so much for the followup links.  Once I am at the Dell Dimension 2400 page, what should I do next with respect to selecting the correct drivers for each of the onboard devices?

On the download page, you should download all drivers needed for system. I know there are a lot of drivers for one device, but Dell system used to have Service Tag that you can find outside the box, or Express Code (outside the box), and if you use one of those, the link will directly leads you to system original configuarion where all hardware, software installed from manufacturing.

But you do have everest software to ID components on motherboard as well as system, so use that to properly select correct drivers for hardware of Dim 2400 you have.

Hi There:

Thanks so much for the followups.  After running Everest, I am still having trouble finding the exact driver for each of the components.  For instance, the video adapter identified by Everest is Intel Extreme Graphics is not listed within the Video Adapter Category of the link given.  Also, for the category of Audio, I do not see a listing for Intel 82801 DB(M) ICH4(-M)-AC'97 Audio Controller[A-1].  I do however see a close match for the NIC though, but, it is not exact.  The NIC identified by Everest is Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Ethernet Controller.

Any further assistance on locating the proper onboard drivers for these devices belonging to the Dell 2400 Desktop PC will be appreciated.

        Thank you.

I guess the motherboard is not original motherboard on Dim 2400 you have there. If you have the service tag that would be easy to fnd out what hardware you have. However, the chipset driver should be install first of all. The run Everest again.

Check the audio, is it onboard sound or PCI sound card? If onboard, just download and install the Analog version provided in the link.

The video, I would download all of them and install one by one see what will work.

The Dim 2400 that if I recalled correct often have: Creative PCI sound card, onboard Broadcom or Intel NIC, onboard springdale intel video, and chipset is 845G. Try above see if helps, if not post back and we would go further.

Thank George for the points and grade.

Nowaday, computer vendors like HP, Dell, IBM, etc. they have offerred to ID system configuration if you buy system from them. It is very good tool to find out what is original installed, setup, configured, etc. So we dont have to buy such 3rd party software such as Everest. Normally, outside the box will have some sticker (Service tag, Express Code, etc.).

Have a nice weekend.
