Text app crash on print

There is a client w/ windows 2000 SP4

Everytime they print, the program who is trying to print crashes.
It happens in notepad, wordpad, OpenOffice, MS office.

The client is connected to a shared printer on the network.
All other clients can print and connect.

Is a registry value change a fix?

does the client have more than just that printer installed? seems a bad print driver somewhere. Remove all printers and try just the network printer if this is the case. If not i have no clue, be more specific on what is installed that could call upon the spooler service.

There are two printers installed

1. A local printer, via USB

2. a network printer connected through a share on the server.
I'm thinking it may be more than a driver error though.
The Client cannot print from a notepad document either!
.dll problem? Registry fix?
with a printer driver error, doesnt matter from where you print, the spooler service loads the full driver.
try removing both the network and the usb printer. Install only the network printer and see if you can print.
are there any reasonable details btw with the program crashes when giving the print job?
No output whatsoever.
The program freezes, then closes. Saying that there was an error and that Oo is recovering the documents
Ok, tried uninstalling all printers and reinstalling the network printer.

Once I installed the network printer I tried to open the properties.
An error message showed up

'Function address 0x780104ac caused a protection fault. (exception code 0x0000005) some or all propert page(s) may not be displayed.'
rings no bells, try it the other way, uninstall network and do the usb one. Be sure to restart the spooler service before you do anything with the printers, this reloads the installed printers.
If the USB printer works fine, its the network printer driver, otherwise it's something with the spooler service.
Well I figured it out...the problem was with the drivers loaded on the server

I updated the drivers, pointed the printer on the server to the updated drivers,
Stopped and started printer spooler services
Deleted and reinstalled the printer on the client machine.....everything works great.

I am having a problem with one other client that is popping an error message when printing a .pdf

The error is "error when printing 'file' to disk. Retry print or cancel"

Have any ideas?
It seems as though there is a master browser entry error......

Well I got that printer issues solved.

Now I am getting an error message that states

Printer Folder:

There was an error found when printing the document 'mydocument.pdf' to disk. Do you wish to retry or cancel the job?

HELP!
see my comment above, its likely the printer memory.
Figured it out....

The printer is not using the internal memory for anything.....ridiculous

Instead, it spools entirely to the hard disk in a folder called PRINTERS
The disk space on this computer was extremely low.
I cleared some disk space and off it goes....
