Dialin access to SBS2003 for remote users who do not have access to highspeed internet.

I need to setup dialin access to our SBS server for users who live out of town and who do not have access to any type of highspeed internet access.  I have an additional server available wich has server 2000 loaded on the box.

Why would you need an additional server?  SBS 2003 is already equiped to handle dialin access.

Just run the Configure Remote Access Wizard in the Internet & Email section of the Server Management Console.

You will need to have a separate modem installed in the machine.  It can't be the same one used by the Fax Service.

I was assuming, by the way, that you are wanting to provide them a VPN connection and not a Terminal Services Connection.  If you want to provide them with a TS connection then you don't need to run the wizard as described above.  They would use their own dialup Internet connection to access Remote Web Workplace and connect to the Win2K Server configured as a Terminal Server.  You must install the Terminal Server according to the documention though.  Get that from http://sbsurl.com/tss2k

You are correct in your first posting, the plan is to establish VPN connection to the server.  I have the modem, I'll pickup a serial pci card tomorrow and setup the modem.  Post back when finished.

TIA!
