What version of HP-UX?  Bash 3.2 is available for HP-UX 11i (all versions) from http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Shells/bash-3.2/ or your nearest mirror.  Dependencies and installation instructions are provided.

You can download bash from here:
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Shells/bash-3.2/
(select your architecture!)
Unzip the package:
gzip -d package.depot.gz
Use 'swinstall -s package.depot'
Do not (I repeat, do not!) make it the default shell for the user 'root'
Also, if you require dependencies, you can find them in here:
http://mirrors.develooper.com/hpux/downloads.html

the best way is to get the Linux porting kit directly from HP.
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B9891AA
it is for freee and it contains besides of a lot of other tolls the GNUbash.

Does anyone know if there is a software repository for packages for HPUX 11.00?  For specific reasons I can't upgrade our boxes to 11i any time in the near future, but man do I miss bash.
