Email created and PC then viewed on a MAC

We have MAC users that read our emails.  We are designing them on a PC.  In viewing the email after it is sent out the apostrophe and hyphen appear as question marks.  How does one compensate or fix this on the PC side so it shows up correctly in both platforms?

Can you post the code? Are they HTML enabled emails, are you using a standard email client like Outlook or is it a web based client?

If not then you can use plain text instead of rich text. If you have access to the mail clients then switch the character set to Unicode or UTF-8.
